    This cycling tour explores the green part of South India. You will be passing through plantations, wildlife parks and amazing villages. This tour will give you a totally different outlook on this small State of Kerala.

    Kerala is known for its greenery, moderate climate and simple people. Being agriculture the main Industry the people are really warm and hospitable. Tourism is become an alternative source very recently only. Kerala is known for its 100% literacy, high level of hygiene and health care and hardworking people. We have no big cities in Kerala but you will pass through a number of small and medium cities. Kerala has a really long stretch of seashore and backwaters.

    This trip will give you a real experience of living into our simple culture. You will come across simple lives around and special villages. People are so friendly to become your hosts at different places. You will visit our National parks and Spice farms during your trip. Before ending the trip, you will also have a relax on our backwaters and beach.

    Day 01:Cochin-Thattekkad (1.5 Hours Drive)

    On arrival at Cochin by early morning flight, you will be transferred to an airport hotel for wash &change and rest. Afterbreakfast, drive to Thattekkad Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, one of the low altitude evergreen forests, situated by the banks of  River Periyar. On arrival, check into your hotel and later go for a cycling through the bird sanctuary and nearby villages. Overnight at hotel.Cycling:Approximate 10 kms

    Thattekad Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, is one of the low altitude evergreen forest. It is a home for 280 species of birds including Grey hornbill, White-bellied tree pie, Rufous babbler, Wayanad laughing thrush, Grey headed bulbul, White-bellied blue flycatcher, Crimson-backed sunbird, Nilgiri wood pigeon, Malabar parakeet etc. and a number of water birds.

    Day 02:Thattekkad to Munnar

    Wake up to the call of Hornbill. After a fresh cup tea prepare for a short walk through riverside trail for birds. After breakfast, mount on your cycle to Munnar through Neryamangalam rainforest. After sun become hot, you will be picked up by pilot car and transfer to Munnar. Lunch at Munnar. After lunch prepare for a hike through spice planters village or have an off road 4×4 drives through mud roads of the plantations to reach campsite. Have a fresh cup of tea. Check in to doom tents. Continue the trek to Tahr Rocks near the camp. Watch sunset from the camp, overlooking sun-moon valley with 280 degree of Ghats view. Campfire and BBQ dinner. Overnight at Mountain Camp. Cycling:25 kms

    Day 03: Munnar – Marayoor

    Wake up to the call of laughing thrush. Enjoy sunrise from the camp with a morning tea. After breakfast prepare for a long trek to climax peak at Shiva’s Head. (2185MSL) The trek is through undulated terrain, high altitude grassland, shola forest, cliff edge etc. to reach the peak. Cross the heather land of Strobilanthus bushes. The pilot vehicle will pick you from Great Escape Gap and transfer to River Way camp at Marayur. Overnight in River Way Camp.  No cycling

    Day 04:Marayoor to Chinnar

    Enjoy rugged beauty of Head River at River way Camp in natural settings of Anamudi hills. Have a spa bath  in the river. After breakfast, check out and start your cycling expedition through sandal wood forest, villages, farmland and archaeological sites.  Lunch at Marayur. Continue   to Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for walking safari and jungle camps. Trek to jungle camp through riparian forests watching wildlife and birds. Chinnar has tropical savannah type of forests with thorny scrub jungles. It is an elephant kingdom with 39 other species of mammals. Check in to the camp. After a tea break, prepare for a dusk walk to spot more wildlife. Overnight at Camp.Cycling:17 kms

    Day 05: Chinnar

    Wake up to the call of leaf monkeys. Enjoy your tea and snacks. A full day to explore the wildlife and rugged beauty of Chinnar. You will get two sessions of 3hrs trek in morning and afternoon. Overnight at camp.No cycling

    Day 06: Chinnar to Kolukkumalai

    Check out from Chinnar after morning hike. Return to Munnar by cycle and car. Lunch at Munnar. Cycle to Kolukkumalai through Great Escape Gap. Jeep transfer to Kolukkumalai for overnight stay. Overnight at Camp.Cycling:25 kms

    Day 07: Kolukkumalai to Korangini

    View sunrise from Kolukkumalai at 2300MSL in Korangini valley. After breakfast prepare for a trek to Korangini valley at 500MSL. Through grasslands, shola, and forest streams visiting Sambalayar waterfalls. Overnight at camp in Korangini.No cycling

    Day 08:Korangini to Periyar

    After breakfast continue the trek for next 2hrs through Kottagudi ethnic village. Cycle from this village till Bodymettu.Pilot vehicle will pick you from here to transfer to Periyar through Bodymettu Ghat road. Overnight at Hotel. Cycling 15 kms.

    Day 09:Periyar

    Full day explore the wildlife of Periyar. Go for a full day jungle activity which includes guided trekking in the wildlife park .You will also do a  bamboo rafting in the Periyar Lake. Lunch will be served enroute. Return by evening. Overnight at the Hotel.

    Periyar sanctuary is one of the best in the country for watching and photographing wildlife. A cruise through the waters of Periyar Lake around which the wildlife sanctuary is situated, offers lots of photo opportunities. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar remains the large herds of wild elephants that come down to the lake’s edge. Tigers are sighted when the forest water holes dry up and these animals come and drink water from the river.

    Day 10: Periyar-Kumarakom (4.5 Hours Drive)

    After breakfast, drive to Kumarakom, which is famous for its backwater & scenic beauty, sprinkled with traditional houseboats, country crafts, rural lifestyles and Tranquillity. You may opt to go for a rejuvenating Ayurvedic Massage. Also you go for a village walk through the nearby villages. Overnight at Hotel.

    The slender coconut palms standing here, there and everywhere, it’s never ending paddy fields, meandering lagoons and backwaters, mangroves nesting birds of a hundred varieties can peacefully calm and invigorate your mind with renewed inspiration for your vocation and life. And that is the pristine beauty of Kumarakom.

    Day 11 :Alleppey  Houseboat

    Enjoy your breakfast at the resort. Later you will be driven to Alleppey to board your Houseboat for a cruise through the backwater villages followed by overnight stay on board. Your meals are cooked and served on board. Explore the amazing backwater life of Kerala. Overnight on the Houseboat.

    What is truly magical about a houseboat is the breath-taking view of the untouched and otherwise inaccessible rural Kerala that it offers. The houseboats have all the creature comforts of a good hotel including furnished bedrooms, modern toilets, cosy living rooms, a kitchen where are cooked on board and supplemented with fresh fish from the backwaters. Today, the tradition is still continued and the food from the local cuisine is served by the Kuttanad locals, on board. The name Backwaters brings you the very thought of Houseboats. Food and leisurely times spent on-board with the feeling and privacy of house as well as enjoying the natural beauty. The experience on the Houseboat is not the one to be explained by words. Its to be lived and evolved by yourself

    Day 12: Alleppey – Marari Beach (1 Hour Drive)

    Enjoy your breakfast on board.Later , checkout & drive to Marari, a relatively quiet beach paradise of Kerala. On arrival check in at the resort on the Beach.Afternoon go for a short cycling through the nearby villages.Overnight at Hotel. Cycling:10 kms

    Marari Beach is an endless vista of sand and surf, but it is more. An authentic experience of the world of Kerala’s traditional fishing villages, and a recreation of an ancient, harmonious way of life. The village of Mararikulam lies on a forgotten shore, midway up the Malabar coast, where the Indian Ocean finally decides that it has now become the Arabian Sea.

    Day 13: Marari

    Full day at the resort. You may opt to take an Ayurvedic Massage…Visit the fishermen villages. By evening it may interesting to visit the local temple to watch the local crowd coming for worship and socialisation. Overnight at Hotel.

    Day 14:Marari- Cochin

    After breakfast, check out and start  your cycling towards Cochin through the village coastal road. Once you reach the main highway, you will be shifted to your vehicle to continue driving to Cochin. Afternoon go for a guided orientation tour of Cochin. Evening visit Greenix Theatre for a kaleidoscope of various art forms. Overnight at Hotel. Cycling:20 kms

    Cochin the queen of the Arabian Sea is one of the most interesting cities of India and has one of the finest natural harbours in the world. A root-conscious people of Kerala have preserved their past not only in the form of history books but also in the form of monuments and palaces. Places, palaces and institutions of historic value are being preserved conscientiously.

    Cochin Sightseeing – St Francis Church, built in 1510 by friars brought to India by Vasco da Gama, is the first European church built in India and is the site where Vasco da Gama was buried. The Jewish Synagogue was built in 1568, Chinese hand-painted tiles are one of the attraction. This, the only Synagogue in India has a nostalgic past of a Jewish Diaspora. The “Dutch Palace” was built in the 1550s; the palace contains excellent mythological murals and a rare example of traditional Keralite flooring – a subtle mix of burnt coconut shells, lime, plant juices and egg whites – which gives the effect of polished marble.

    Day 15:Cochin Departure

    Like all good things, your holiday experience comes to an end but you will always carry with you, the memories of this unique and unforgettable experience. Today, you will be assisted and transferred to Cochin International airport for your flight home.
