Wayanad, the northern hill district of Kerala and an integral part of Nilgiri Bio Sphere, is covered with dense, moist deciduous forests. Elephants, tigers, leopards, jungle cats, civets, bison, peacocks, various other bird species can be seen here. In the sylvan solitude of this land is Pakshipathalam, a picturesque sleepy little place.Pakshipathalam – the very name of the place refers to the richness of birdlife here. Here virgin forests, rivulets and steep hills together offer challenging avenues for trekking.

You will start your trek from a small village near to Kalpetta in Wayanad to visit the rural farms,tea gardens and Uravu,an NGO works for the promotion of the Eco Tourism and farming activities.It supports mainly the artisans work on Bamboo based products to earn a decent livelihood and they promote growing bamboo.You will have lunch at the village.Later you will walk to a peak of 1600 mtrs to have a panoramic view of Wayanad.By evening you will be back in Kalpetta.All our treks are escorted and exclusive for each group.Hence if anyone feels to stop in between and to return ,we can break the trek and shorten it.
